The preparations of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles for the upcoming World Cup qualifier suffered a huge setback on Thursday, following the withdrawal of one of the invited players.
According to the update from the team camp, Bayer Leverkusen star midfielder Nathan Tella has withdrawn from the team.
Tella was one of the key players in the German champions and his exploits in the league and Cup games warranted his invitation to the Super Eagles.
The player decided to drop out of the team citing family.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Finidi George has invited Rizespor attacker Ibrahim Olawoyin as a replacement.
