The Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed in the city of Bouake ahead of the semi-final clash against South Africa at the ongoing African cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire without their talisman Victor Osimhen.
According to the team’s media officer Babafemi Raji, the three-time champions departed Abidjan 10pm on Monday night, via Air Cote d’Ivoire while also informing that the team travelled without the reigning African player of the year.
“We will fly from Abidjan to Bouaké today via a 10pm Air Cote D’Ivoire flight. Victor Osimhen will not join us on this trip as a result of an abdominal discomfort. Team medics confirmed that he has been placed under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him. If cleared by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5 pm.”
Nigeria will trade tackle with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Wednesday at the Stade De La Paix in Bouake for a place in the final.
