In light of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match between Nigeria and South Africa in Cote D’Ivoire, the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa has issued a warning to Nigerian nationals living in the country, urging them to exercise caution and take necessary security measures.

The warning comes in the wake of avoiding violence and crime targeting Nigerians.

The High Commission has advised Nigerians to avoid public gatherings.

According to a statement issued by the commission on Monday, warning the Nigerians to be calm and silent with their celebration if the Super Eagles secure victory over South Africa in the African Cup of Nations semifinals going on in Cote D’Ivoire.

They further cautioned Nigerians living in the country to extremely avoid wild jubilation that could lead to undue unrest.
