Super Falcons star, Rasheedat Ajibade, is the newest addition to the FIFPro Global Player Council, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

The World’s players union on Wednesday announced that its council had risen to 34 members, with Nigeria’s Ajibade, Kenya and Farul Constanta’s Enez Mango and Zimbabwe and Reims’ Marshall Munetsi joining the fray.

The Atletico Madrid forward becomes the second Nigerian to join the council after Leon Balogun was named among the first 29 GPC members last September.

Ajibade will take part: on behalf of footballers in FIFPro’s 66 affiliated national player associations, in debating issues ranging from international match calendar, employment standards, the use of personal data and social media abuse.

Speaking on her new role, the 2022 Women’s AFCON topscorer stated that she was ready to use her position to help footballers in Africa and beyond.

“It’s important that the voices of players are heard. I’m looking forward to using my platform to help players in Africa and beyond,” Ajibade said.
