Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has announced his decision to step down at the end of the season, expressing that he is “running out of energy.”

Klopp, who took charge in October 2015 and was initially contracted until 2026, has had a highly successful tenure, securing the Champions League in 2019 and breaking Liverpool’s 30-year league title drought in 2019-20.

In revealing his departure, Klopp shared, “I told the club already in November. I love absolutely everything about this club, the city, the supporters, the team, the staff. But I still take this decision because I am convinced it is the right one due to my energy levels.” Reflecting on his respect and love for the club, he emphasized the importance of honesty with the fans.

Liverpool, under Klopp’s guidance, achieved significant success, including a domestic cup double in the 2021-22 season and narrowly missing a quadruple in the previous season. Klopp expressed gratitude for the fans’ support and acknowledged the truth of his decision, stating, “I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again.”

The Reds, currently in contention for four trophies this season, recently secured a spot in the Carabao Cup final by defeating Fulham. Klopp’s decision comes with Liverpool consistently being at the top of the Premier League table.
