After dropping from the CAF Champions League on away goal rule against Esperance Tunis of Tunisia, Plateau United of Nigeria walks another tight rope after a 4-1 win over Al Akhdar of Libya in the first leg of the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup Playoff at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

Mustapha Yuga and Ifeanyi Emmanuel goals in the 27th and 40th minute were enough to secure a 2-0 first half victory for Plateau United.

Neither of the two sides could find the back of the net in the second half of the encounter until the 75th minute when Albert Hilary extended Plateau United but the visitors pulled one back ten minutes later.

Moments later, Albert Hilary hit his brace of the evening to seal an impressive 4-1 victory for Plateau United going into the second leg of the fixture.

At the expiration of regulation time, Plateau United FC emerged 4-1 winners over Al Akhder SC of Libya.

The return leg will take place at the Matrys of February Stadium in Benghazi Libya on November 9, 2022.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his Plateau United FC charges will head into the second leg with a fairly healthy 4-1 aggregate lead from the first leg.

The aggregate winner of this match will join seven others in the group stage of the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup.
