Cyriel Dessers is now a major doubt for the Super Eagles in this month’s friendly against Portugal after he was again missing for US Cremonese in the Serie A with a thigh injury, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.
Cremonese recorded an encouraging goalless draw with champions AC Milan in the striker’s absence Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles striker has been a regular starter for Cremonese, featuring in all 12 of their Serie A games, scoring twice.
Dessers was called up by coach Jose Peseiro for the friendlies in Algeria in September.
He scored his first goal for Nigeria against the Algerian team.
Super Eagles will slug it out with World Cup-bound Portugal on November 17 in Lisbon.
