Nigeria International Taiwo Awoniyi ended his goal drought but it was not enough as struggling Nottingham Forest lost 3-2 at home to Fulham in the Premier League on Friday, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

Awoniyi scored in the 11th minute as he headed from a corner kick but never quite got close to scoring in the first half.

Super Eagles-eligible defender Tosin Adarabiouo scored the equaliser for Fulham in the 54th minute as Joao Palhinha and Harrison Reed completed the 6-minute rally to take the game past Forest.

Awoniyi missed from a similar position from where he had scored inside the opposition penalty box which could have made the score stand at 3-2 before he was substituted by Sam Surridge in the 70th minute.

Lewis O’Brein scored from close range for Forest 13 minutes before full time.

The Kwara- born player also became just the second Forest player to score in his first two home starts in the Premier League after Stan Collymore.

The loss keeps Forest rooted to 19th with six losses from seven games and face an early battle for survival
