Taiwo Awoniyi scored in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Liverpool FC on Saturday afternoon, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

Awóníyì started upfront alongside Morgan Gibbs-White and Jesse Lingard in a 4-3-3 formation as he ended up scoring against his former employers.

His fellow Nigerian, Emmanuel Dennis was an unused substitute in Forest’s famous win.

Nottingham Forest pulled off a huge win over Klopp’s men in a Premier League game played at the City Ground.

Awoniyi put Steve Cooper’s ahead in the 55th minute.

The 25-year-old initial shot hit the post but he reacted on time and tucked away the rebound.

Awoniyi is now the first Nottingham Forest player to score in each of his first three Premier League starts at the City Ground.

The forward has also registered three goals in nine league appearances for Forest this season.

He was replaced by Joseph Worrall in the 64th minute.
