Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi was in action for Everton in their goalless draw with city rivals Liverpool at the Goodison Park on Saturday, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.
The Premier League clash was eventful, with a goal by the Toffees ruled out for offside by VAR while Liverpool hit the post in stoppage time.
Playing as a central midfielder again, Iwobi made one key pass and completed two long balls. The Nigerian international also had one shot off target as Everton stopped Liverpool.
The Toffees started the game brightly as they searched for their first league win of the season. While Liverpool had a major share of the possession, Everton were more dangerous in the attacking area.
Iwobi registered one tackle and made zero interceptions and zero blocked shots while he committed no fouls. His defensive contribution also saw him make three key clearances.
Everton are yet to record a win this term after six outings.
Both teams missed a number of scoring opportunities in the game.
Everton were denied a winner on 69 minutes when Conor Goady’s effort was ruled by the Video Assistant Referee.
The draw laves Liverpool in fifth place ahead of the weekend’s remaining fixtures. Winless Everton rise to 14th after a fourth consecutive draw.
