Liverpool run out 2-1 winners over Brighton to move top of the Premier League, at least until City take on Arsenal later on Sunday. The Reds found themselves behind after just 87 seconds, Welbeck firing past Kelleher and in to stun Anfield.
The hosts would respond, though, levelling through Diaz, before a clever move unlocked the Brighton door again in the second half for Salah to finish.
There were a few nervy moments late on for the home crowd, but their team held on to secure another huge three points that move them top and with a three-point lead, at least temporarily.
For the Seagulls, they remain ninth having seen their European hopes take another blow.
They will look to get back on track when they travel to Brentford on Wednesday, while Liverpool host struggling Sheffield United the following day.
