Nigeria’s U20 Women’s Team, the Falconets, Qualify for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup With a Hard-Fought victory over Burundi.
Esther Ajakaye’s goal was the difference between the two sides.
The Nigerian team had to fight hard to earn the win, with Burundi putting up a strong defense. But Ajakaye’s strike in the 79th minute was enough to secure the victory and send the Falconets to the U20 Women World Cup in Colombia.
Falconet who have enjoyed a walkover over Mauritius in the second round, while in the third round, they defeated Tanzania with an aggregate of 3-2 before meeting Burundi to set up World Cup dream.
On the other side, Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco, Ethiopia, Senegal and Egypt are also on the verge to secure the ticket provided they get a win in their respective game to join Nigeria .
