The Nigerian Senior Women’s Basketball Team, D’Tigress, has made history by qualifying for the quarter-finals of the ongoing Paris Olympics. This achievement marks a first for the team, who had previously been eliminated in the group stage in their two prior Olympic appearances.

 

D’Tigress defeats Canada in thrilling style In their final group game on Sunday, D’Tigress faced off against Canada and emerged victorious with a score of 79-70 points. The match was closely contested, with the first quarter ending in a tie at 18-18. Canada took the lead in the second quarter, scoring 23 points to Nigeria’s 19. However, D’Tigress rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Canada 23-5. Canada attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 24 points, but Nigeria held strong, scoring 19 points to secure the win.
