Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo is a major doubt for Aris Thessaloniki’s Greek Cup clash against Levadiakos, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

According to the Greek news outlet, To10, Etebo experienced discomfort in his right gastrocnemius this week and will be evaluated ahead of the game.

Crucial to manager Alan Pardew’s plans is midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo. The Nigerian midfielder has been influential for the Yellow-Blacks since joining on loan from Stoke City in the summer.

Aris Thessaloniki have lost only one of the six games Etebo has featured in since he arrived in Greece. The 27-year-old especially earned top plaudits for his performance in the 4-0 demolition of PAS Giannina and the 5-0 thumping of Lamia, Aris’ last two games before the World Cup break in mid-November.

However, Etebo’s hopes of participating in the matchup with Levadiakos hit a major brick wall after he picked up a knock in training on Wednesday.

Aris will travel to the Municipal Stadium, Livadeia on Friday for the first leg of the Round of 16 contest.

Etebo has been one of the top performers for the Yellow and Blacks since his arrival at the club from Stoke City on loan.

Aris has lost just once in the six games Etebo has featured this season.

Aris have not won the Greek Cup in more than five decades, with the Yellows last lifting the trophy in 1970.
