Leicester City are hoping to finalise the £25million deal to sign Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho this week, AOIFootball.com reports.

The 20-year-old will become Leicester’s fourth signing of the summer and bring to an end a prolonged wait to see the Nigeria international in Leicester colours.

Leicester have had a fee agreed with Man City for the past fortnight but a legal tussle between the striker’s former and current agents over image rights had put the brakes on the deal.

That dispute has now been resolved with Leicester given the all-clear to complete the deal, with the hope that the move will be finalised in the coming days now that the squad is back from Hong Kong and the Premier League Asia Trophy.

Leicester have returned from their Premier League Asia Trophy campaign in Hong Kong, and are set for a string of further pre-season friendlies this week.

Craig Shakespeare’s side head to Luton on Wednesday, MK Dons on Friday and Wolves on Saturday, and fans will be hoping they will see Iheanacho feature in at least one of them.

City vice-chairman Top also confirmed over the weekend that he hoped a deal for Iheanacho would be completed “soon.”
