Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe has been named the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) World’s Best Goal Scorer for 2022, beating out competition from Erling Haaland and others, Abbeylivenetwork.com gathered.
Mbappe scored a total of 56 goals in 56 appearances for both his club team and the French national team. In the top five alongside Mbappe were Bérgson, Germán Cano, Robert Lewandowski and Odion Ighalo, who was the highest ranked Nigerian player with 28 goals for Al Shabab and Al Hilal.
In the women’s rankings, Uchenna Kanu of Tigres UANL was the top ranked Nigerian player with 22 goals, while the highest scoring women’s players overall were Fenna Kalma, Samantha Kerr, Tessa Wullaert, Romée Leuchter and Kadisha Shaw.
The IFFHS is an organisation that was founded in 1984 by Antonio Mattarollo, a sports journalist from Italy. It is based in Leipzig, Germany, and is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and publishing the statistics of international football.
