Former FA Cup winning coach with Ocean Boys of Brass, Evans Ogenyi has emerged as the new Technical Adviser of relegated Kano Pillars, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.
Kano Pillars were relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.
The Benue State-born coach was said to have beaten a Mexican, two Ghanaians, one Ivorian, Togolese and nine other foreigners (whose identities were not made known) plus his Nigerian colleagues who made up the 31 applicants.
Chairman of the club, Ibrahim Galadima disclosed that a Mexican, two Ghanaians, one Togolese, one Ivorian and nine other foreigners applied for the job.
Ogenyi last handled another NNL side, Warri Wolves.
He has also managed Ocean Boys and Lobi Stars in the past.
Four-time NPFL champions, Kano Pillars will look for a quick return to the Nigerian top flight after a dismal campaign last term.
