Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali debunked the insinuations that there is a rivalry between himself and Maduka Okoye.

The Udinese shot-stopper returned to the Super Eagles fold for the first time since October 2023.

Okoye’s heroic performance for Udinese in the just-concluded season has brought up a debate about whether he could rival Chippa United goalkeeper for the number one spot.

While speaking on Lagos talk, Nwabali agreed that Okoye should be in goal if he can give to the country what is given to the Italian club.

” There is no debate, if Maduka can give what he’s giving Udinese to the country, then he should play.

” It’s not like a club side, where you see a new signing and you talk about fighting, no, this is the country we are playing for, we are representing this green white green and we want to see everyone happy”, he said.
