Anayo Ogbonna gave Gombe United the lead in the 12th minute, while Albert Hilary equalised for the visitors six minutes later.
The home team regained the lead through Rahman Olanrewaju on 24 minutes.

The win now sees Gombe United move up to sixth in Group A, while Plateau United remain in fourth – behind Bendel Insurance, Enyimba and Akwa United.
Elesewhere, Remo Stars failed in their quest to reclaim their place among the top three teams in Group A, as they lost 2-0 to bottom-placed Nasarawa United.
The defeat becomes the third for Remo Stars who had started the season well and failed to lose in any of their first four fixtures.
As it stands, they have now failed to win and secure all three points in their last four league fixtures.
The Solid Miners took the lead in the first eight minutes of the game through Joshua John.
Bala Nikyu’s side put the game beyond the Sky Blue Stars with Emmanuel Ogbole netting the second two minutes after the break.
Nasarawa United moved from bottom spot to eighth position on the Group A table.
For Remo Stars, the defeat now sees them rooted to fifth in Group A, and nine points behind leaders Bendel Insurance.
