The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has decided to postpone the scheduled matches for the ongoing 2023/2024 Premiership season by three weeks.
Matchday 10 fixtures, originally slated for February 28th, 2024, will now take place on March 20th, 2024. The decision to postpone comes amidst various critical issues, including match operations and officiating, which require immediate attention and resolution.
Modupe Shabi, Chief Operating Officer of NWFL, emphasized the importance of addressing these issues promptly to guarantee a smooth and successful league.
According to her, this decision in the interest of ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the apex league.
She expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders.
The NWFL wishes to reassure fans, players and officials that concerted efforts are being made to resolve the challenges and deliver an outstanding league experience on the rescheduled date.
