Ojodu City FC of Lagos has set the stage for a riveting european competition tour spectacle as they gear up for their annual transatlantic tour in the winter of 2025. With footballing fans in the Nigeria eagerly anticipating their beloved team ahead of Italy tour “Viareggio Cup 2025” has sent waves of excitement through the soccer world.
The european competition “Viareggio Cup 2025” scheduled to take place by February 2025, will see The City Boys face off against top clubs on Italian soil.
However, Head Coach Ogunbanjo Olawale Rasaq remains resolute, expressing confidence in his team’s capabilities to excel in the tournament as he believes the team is good enough to lift the title next year.Speaking on the important of the Italy tour, Ojodu City FC sporting director, Ogunlaja Paul said, “The team are looking forward to preparations in Italy as we build up for next year and also looking into player marketing for the club.
“We continue to push to alignment of our club andthe tour will provide an exciting opportunity for all of the players.”
Ojodu City FC which founded in 2022 is number one local football club in Nigeria has empowered and birth talented young athletes to become professional footballers in the world of sports.
The lagos based club recently participated in the 74th Viareggio Cup in Italy. Ojodu City FC showcased exceptional talent and resilience throughout the tournament, which featured 24 teams from around the world, including four representing Nigeria. Ojodu City FC was seeded in the challenging “Group of Death” alongside Empoli (Italy), Melbourne City (Australia), and Imolese (Italy).
It could be recalled that Hafiz Ibrahim’s had a stellar performance at the Viareggio Cup which attracted interest from top European clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Fiorentina.
