Eight contenders have been nominated for September’s Premier League Goal of the Month, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

Hannibal Mejbri’s stunner against Brighton gets the nod as does Jhon Duran’s for Aston Villa versus Crystal Palace.

Leandro Trossard’s lovely side-footed finish at Everton is also amongst the list, as is Callum Hudson-Odoi’s first goal for Nottingham Forest.

Julian Alvarez for his free kick at Wolves and Bruno Fernandes for his volley Burnley continue the Manchester theme.

Miguel Almiron’s strike, also against Burnley, and Joachim Anderson’s powerful drive at Old Trafford complete the nominees.


The five nominees have been revealed for the Premier League Manager of the Month award.

Arsenal remain unbeaten and their boss Mikel Arteta is on the list, as is former Gunners manager Unai Emery, whose Aston Villa side have chalked up five consecutive victories.

Across north London, Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou is also nominated after three wins and a draw in September, as is Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp after his side overcame Aston Villa, Wolves and West Ham last month.

And rounding off the shortlist is Newcastle’s Eddie Howe, who oversaw an historic 8-0 victory over Sheffield United last month, with the Magpies scoring 12 goals in September.


Earlier on Thursday, the six nominees for September Player of the Month were also revealed.

Heung-min Son leads the way for Tottenham having netted six goals for Spurs.

Julian Alvarez is also named after a stunning month in front of goal for Manchester City.

With two goals and two assists, Mohamed Salah is also named amongst the half dozen.

Pedro Neto of Wolves, Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier and Aston Villa man Ollie Watkins completed the nominees.
