A young defender from the Nigerian club Remo Stars has made the move to the Portuguese league, following in the footsteps of many of his compatriots. The player, who has signed a deal with a Portuguese club after impressing on trial.
Nigeria Premier Football League side Stars have now confirmed the departure of defender Isah Ali from the club.
The Sky Blue Stars disclosed this on their official X handle.
Remo Stars appreciated the 22-year-old defender’s selfless service to the club
“We can confirm that an agreement has been reached in principle with CD Feirense for the transfer of centre back, Isah Ali to Portugal,” the club wrote.
“The club appreciates Isah for his time with the team and wishes him good luck in his next phase of football.”
Ali sealed a move to the Portuguese outfit CD Feirense on Wednesday.
He began his career with the club’s youth team Beyond Limits.
Ali featured for Remo Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2022.
It is a significant step up for the player, who will now have the opportunity to test himself against some of the best players in Europe. His story is one of determination and perseverance, and he is an inspiration to other young players in Nigeria.
