Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala scored twice as Barcelona Ladies defeated Sporting Huelva 3-0 in their Spanish Iberdola clash, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.
Barça started like a team in a hurry and there was a flurry of chances in the early minutes of the contest. Sporting defended well but offered little going forward and it came as no surprise when Oshoala opened the scoring on 21 minutes with a well placed header.
Still in the first half, a second came for the blaugranes when Mariona pounced onto a rebound after Lucy Bronze’s effort had been blocked on 31 minutes. More chances came and went but Sporting managed to keep the lead to just 2-0 for Barça at half time.
The second half followed the pattern of the first. In the 57th minute Oshoala scored her 7th league goal of the campaign to make it 3-0, finishing well after a pass from Mariona.
The Super Falcons forward was replaced by Keira Walsh 15 minutes from time.
The 28-year-old has now scored seven goals in 13 league appearances for Barcelona this season.
She is in fifth position on the top scorer’s chart.
