William Troost-Ekong has completed his move to Italian Serie A club Salernitana following a successful medical, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.

Salernitana have confirmed the capture of the Nigeria international on loan from Watford with an option to purchase inserted into the agreement between both clubs.

Super Eagles Vice captain has featured 68 times and scored twice in yellow since joining in September 2020 from Udinese.

The defender has made 15 appearances during the current campaign, wearing the armband on five occasions. Notably, he scored a memorable goal against Luton Town back in October during Watford’s 4-0 defeat of the Hatters.

Troost-Ekong has been assigned the number 15 jersey at Salernitana for the remainder of the season.

His first assignment will be to help the side halt that horrible defensive record starting with an away clash at Lecce this weekend.
