Super Eagles and UD Almeria striker Umar Sadiq has sealed a much-anticipated move to Real Sociedad, reports transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.
According to the highly respected Romano, Almeria and Real Sociedad have completed negotiations for the former AS Roma striker for a transfer fee in the region of €20 million.
The deal according to Romano is worth €20m, including add-ons, plus 15% sell-on clause.
Sadiq has been for a while on the radar of a few Spanish clubs, including Villarreal, Sevilla, Real Betis, and Getafe.
But there have been concerns about how the former Rangers loanee would adapt to life in the Primera Division.
The 25-year-old is a direct replacement for Sweden International, Aleksandr Isak, who has joined Premier League club, Newcastle United.
Sadiq was Almeria’s leading scorer in the last two seasons and his goals last term saw them regain their place in the Spanish top league.
The Kaduna-born striker has largely put those fears to bed after netting two goals in his first three La Liga matches this term.
