After impressive saves against Manchester United, Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been nominated for the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week and Save of the Day awards, Abbeylivenetwork.com reports.
Uzoho was in outstanding form in Omonia Nicosia’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old gave a good account of himself by making twelve saves, nine from within the eighteen yard box.
UEFA on Friday afternoon released the name of the players listed for the player of the week and Uzoho was among the nominated player.
He was listed among Oliviera of Braga, Veerman ( PSV) and Bovim of Sturm Graz of Austria.
The winner will be announced this weekend.
