Hatayspor of Turkey midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was the saving grace for Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa.
The Nigerian side hosted Bafana Bafana in the match day 3 of the qualifier and their winless streak continued
Zwane put Bafana ahead in the 29th minute after a poor defensive display by the Super Eagles and Stanley Nwabali was on hand to rescue the team again.
The host proved to be the better side in the second half as they seized control of the game.
Dele-Tomori drew Nigeria level immediately after the second half commenced with an assist from Alex Iwobi.
Alhassan Yusuf was introduced in place of Dele-Bashiru a few minutes later due to Injury.
The few changes made by coach Finidi George failed to impact the game as it ended 1-1.
Super Eagles will play away to the Cheetah of Benin on Monday in the Day 4 of the qualifier at Cote D’Ivoire.
