Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has increased the European champions’ charm offensive towards Monaco phenom Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos want the 18-year-old sensation, who scored 26 times in his breakthrough season with the French champions, to join their ranks this summer.

But Monaco don’t want to part with Mbappe yet, despite knowing that they stand to land in excess of £100million for the teenager.

The Principality club are keen on keeping Mbappe at the Stade Louis II for one more year and on Thursday declared they will consider making a complaint to FIFA after “multiple” illegal approaches for the player.

His exploits have sparked a scramble for his signature and it’s is understood that it is the approaches of Manchester City and French rivals PSG that have angered Monaco.

Mirror Sport understands the French champions believe they can prove that both City and PSG have met the player.

But Madrid are tracking the player, whom they are hoping to add to their growing ranks of Galacticos and young talent – including Spain starlets Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos – as they look to continue their dominance of the European game, after three Champions League successes in four years.

Now Zidane has lauded his compatriot, as speculation continues to swirl with regards his future.

“He is very good,” Zidane said to ESPN. “He is a talent, he is 18 years old, he has personality.

“He is very good, very good as a player and has shown it all year, but he is not a player of mine.

“Apart from what I’m telling you, I can not tell you more.”

Madrid are set to be left with only one recognised centre-forward, Karim Benzema, with Alvaro Morata set to secure a £67million move to Chelsea.
